A schoolgirl in northern California added her late grandfather's ashes to a batch of cookies she was baking and shared them with classmates, only some of whom knew what was in them.
According to the police the girl and a friend took the biscuits in to Da Vinci Charter Academy, in Davis, near Sacramento, and shared them with nine other students.
Andy Knox, a classmate, told KCRA-TV, that he took a bite and became worried about the "special ingredient" to which the girl had referred. "I thought that she put drugs in it or something," he said.
